I am the principal and founder of Parakeet Coaching and Consulting

As an ontological practitioner, organisational coach, health educator, facilitator and mediator my goal is to support people and organisations to co-create meaning and purpose. This means taking an intentional approach to achieving organisational and personal goals, within a context of healthy lives consistent with personal values.

My career in health, community and public services spans over 30 years, beginning as a young volunteer working with intellectually disabled children and teenagers at the local YMCA.  I have worked in direct service delivery, policy and middle management. Through this, I have first hand experience in managing the strategic, operational, ethical, relational and cultural challenges faced by managers and their staff. I have also developed a deep appreciation of the high social value of intentional non-government organisations and the impact they have on the lives of many in our community, particularly those experiencing disadvantage.

Just prior to leaving the public sector, I worked for the Defence Abuse Response Taskforce, which was tasked with facilitating meaningful outcomes for complainants impacted by sexual and other abuse in the Australian Defence Forces prior to 2011. This experience reignited my passion for working toward the prevention of harm within organisations and restorative processes where harm has occurred.

I received my initial accreditation in organisational coaching through the Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership (IECL), where I also trained in team coaching. In 2017, I was the first person to be awarded the Graduate Diploma in Organisational Coaching and Leadership through the joint program between IECL and Charles Sturt University. I subsequently completed further graduate studies to deepen my specialist skills in ontological coaching.

I have completed training in both the CINERGY™ conflict management model and meditation through Resolution Australia (formerly LEADR Association of Dispute Resolvers).

I am a credentialed member of the International Coach Federation (ICF) and am a qualified ICF mentor coach. This reflects my commitment to professionalism and accountability within a clear ethical structure.

My breadth of experience ensures that I take an evidence-based approach to coaching, drawing on research in the cognitive and psychological sciences, along with contemporary literature in management and philosophy. This provides a challenging yet supportive coaching experience, resulting in significant and sustainable shifts in thinking and behaviours.

I also collaborate with other coaches and facilitators from diverse professional backgrounds to deliver larger programs and projects.

It will be my pleasure to discuss your coaching requirements and/or the development of bespoke services to meet your needs.
